Breaking All Open Connections in Related Database in SQL Server

In this article, I will try to give information about breaking all open connections in the relevant database in SQL Server.

In SQL Server, in some cases, you may want to disconnect all open connections in the relevant database.

You can easily do this using the code below.

USE master;
DECLARE @kill VARCHAR(8000) = '';
SELECT @kill = @kill + 'kill ' + CONVERT(VARCHAR(5), session_id) + ';'
FROM sys.dm_exec_sessions
WHERE database_id = DB_ID('Northwind');
EXEC (@kill);

USE master;
DECLARE @kill VARCHAR(8000);
SET @kill = '';
SELECT @kill = @kill + 'kill ' + CONVERT(VARCHAR(5), spid) + ';'
FROM master..sysprocesses
WHERE dbid = DB_ID('Northwind');

When you run the above code, you will see a result similar to the one below.

As you can see, all open connections in the relevant database have been cut.
